The first game of the season against the division rival Rivermen. Both teams played the night before... Milwaukee in Grand Rapids, and Peoria at home, which left both teams a little worn out for this afternoon affair at the Bradley Center.

Admiral goaltender Scott Reid returned to the ice as his counterpart Karl Goehring had seen two consecutive nights of action and was deserving of a rest. Peoria scores on their first shot of the game, but couldn't do much after that... losing to Milwaukee 2-1 in overtime.

Both Admiral goals were a mess. Ville Koistinen's centering pass deflected off a Peoria stick and "Hanson-Brother-Wannabe" Rocky Thompson and into the Peoria net to tie the score at one. In overtime, Ramzi Abid's goal was disputed by the Rivermen, who felt that he kicked it in... several bodies were scrambling in the crease for a few seconds as Abid eventually got it into the net.
