vs. Chicago Wolves
at the Bradley Center
This game mirrored many other games between these two teams in the past. Milwaukee takes a lead, Chicago claws their way back, fans in suspense until the horn sounds. Only this time, the Admirals were able to fend off the pesky Wolves.

The game started off with a bang as Cam Severson and Kyle Rossiter dropped the gloves moments after the opening faceoff. Both players connected with some punches, and the fans were into the game early on.

Milwaukee got onto the scoreboard first on a nice tic-tac-toe play on a power play that ended with Brandon Segal flipping the puck into the net from the slot. Segal would strike again early in the second period by putting a rebound of his first shot over Chicago goaltender Kari Lehtonen's shoulder.

After getting a 10 minute misconduct in the first period, Jordin Tootoo came back into the game in the second and scored his first goal of the season to give Milwaukee a 3-0 lead. The teams combined for 35 shots in the second period, but the Wolves came up empty on their 18 shots.

Chicago came out of the locker room ready to play, and the Admirals looked very flat for 17 minutes or so in the final period. Goals by Brad Larsen and Steve Maltais cut the Milwaukee lead to one.

Admirals defenseman Andrew Hutchinson scored a big goal with less than six minutes remaining to make it 4-2. Hutchinson has a point in five of his six games. Less than two minutes later, Karl Stewart would score for Chicago.

With Mike Matteucci called for boarding with just over two minutes remaining in regulation, the stage was set for Chicago to pull the goaltender for an extra attacker to try to tie the game. Halfway through that tense penalty kill, Libor Pivko was able to fire a long shot into the empty Chicago net to seal the victory.

Brian Finley stopped a season high 36 shots to earn the victory. The Admirals penalty killers remained ranked #2 in the league after stopping all 8 Chicago chances in the game, including a four minute span due to a double minor to Matteucci in the second period.

It was nice to see a few old Admirals in attendance tonight. Danny Lecours and Yves Preston were seen in the crowd. It would be nice to see more guys with a connection to the team's past come out and support the club more often.
