I can't tell you too much about the game because neither the Admirals or Grizzlies internet radio feeds were working tonight. Milwaukee broadcasts on a station with a weak signal that doesn't travel much beyond Milwaukee county (I live in Kenosha county). If I try real hard I can catch every fifth sylable through the static, but I'd rather follow the game quietly via pointstreak's box scores that are updated many times throughout the game.
A few surprises in the lineup. Ryan Suter is out for a few weeks after hurting his shoulder in the last game in Chicago. Libor Pivko remains sidelined with his 'upper body' injury, and Jordin Tootoo was scratched for some reason. Paul Brown saw his first action of the season, and Mike Matteucci stepped in to fill in for Suter on defense.
The Admirals found themselves on a penalty kill in the first period after Timofei Shishkanov was called for holding the stick, moments after coming out of the box for serving a bench minor call. Milwaukee's penalty killers got on the scoreboard with a shorthanded goal by Scottie Upshall.
Jeremy Yablonski racked up six penalty minutes in the first period, including a double minor, but the Admirals were able to kill off those opportunities for Utah. Going into the game, the team was ranked third in the league by killing 26 of 27 power plays.
The teams skated the final 53:36 without scoring, earning Brian Finley his first shutout of the season.
