The Admirals brought a nine game winning streak into the game dating back to May in the playoffs.

Libor Pivko was still scratched with an undisclosed injury, as was Paul Brown and Mike Matteucci. Brian Finley was back between the pipes to square off against Kari Lehtonen.

Darren Haydar got the Admirals onto the scoreboard first with a goal in the last minute of the first period, and Dan Hamhuis got his first of the year on a power play in the first minute of the second period. The Wolves answered back a few minutes later with a goal by J.P. Vigier.

The Wolves had many prime scoring chances including a 5 minute high sticking call on Simon Gamache and two seperate 2 man advantage power plays, but they were 0 for 7 on the night with a man advantage. Gamache and Scottie Upshall each had 3 seperate trips to the sin bin.

The game remained at 2-1 until the final moments of the third period when Travis Roche tied it up with less than 2 seconds left on the clock. Roche remained the hero in overtime, scoring the game winner.
