vs. Chicago Wolves
at the All State Arena
The guy with perhaps more shootout experience than anyone else in the AHL taught the Admirals how to do it right.
Chicago captain Steve Maltais didn't dork around with the puck trying a triple deke like the Admirals tend to
do on the shootout... instead he got close enough to the goal to cut down on Brian Finley's reaction
time and let 'er rip. Lonny Bohonos followed suit in similar fashion, allowing the Wolves to
gain a point in the standings with the shootout victory. The Admirals are still without a shootout
victory, and have only managed one shot to score in 13 attempts this season.
The Admirals never led in the game, but they managed to tie the score three times. Bryan Lundbohm's
timely goal in the third period helped earn the team a point in the standings by sending it to
overtime. Timofei Shishkanov scored twice earlier in the game to overcome a 3-1 Wolves lead.
Michael Garnett started in the net for Chicago as their top goaltender Kari Lehtonen was sick, but
able to suit up as a backup.
