Goehring finds himself in Milwaukee serving as the team's first string netminder while Pekka Rinne heals from offseason shoulder surgery. After four illustrious years as the starting goaltender for the North Dakota Fighting Sioux, he was signed as a free agent by Columbus after his senior year. In his rookie pro season, he split time between Syracuse and Dayton (ECHL). Under NHL contract to Columbus for four years, he never was given the chance to play for the Blue Jackets. Last season, he played 19 games in Finland before returning to the States to play for San Antonio.

Set the UND school record for goals against average in 1999-00 (1.89)
Earned a trip to the White House after UND defeated Boston College for the 2000 NCAA title.
In 2001, he lost the NCAA title game in overtime to Boston College (Krys Kolanos scored the game winner).

Made his first trip to the NHL backing up Nashville's Chris Mason on November 25, 2006
