A duel between two of the top teams of the Western Conference ended with a 3-2 victory for the Hamilton Bulldogs.
After falling into a 2-0 deficit after two periods, the Admirals scored twice in the third period in a comeback effort, but couldn't pull off the miracle.
Speaking of miracles, the highlight of the night was seeing two members of the 1980 Olympic gold medal winning hockey team. Bob Suter and former Admiral Buzz Schneider were on hand to sign autographs, and one of the guys brought his medal to show the fans. Suter is the father of former Admiral Ryan Suter, who will participate in next month's Olympic Games in Vancouver.

Here is a photo which sums up the game...

I took some really good photos from Friday night's game against Houston. A big, big thanks to Paul for not only letting me use his spare camera again, but he had me try a better zoom lens.
I did something a little different for this batch. I threw them on a flickr page. Click here for a slideshow of every photo.
Here's one of my favorites from Friday night...
I took photos at Thursday night's game, but I doubt I'll be sharing those. I was so fed up at that game, and I don't want to relive it by going through that batch of pics anytime soon.

My photos from Saturday night's game against Toronto.
I managed to capture Wacey Rabbit digging into Joey MacDonald's crotch for the puck (see pic 6). The Marlie defensemen took offense to this and shoved him all the way to the sideboards.
During pregame warmups, I was hoping I'd see a replay of the scene from "Slap Shot" where the Hanson's started a big brawl during warmups. Toronto defenseman Phil Oreskovic started running his mouth at Nolan Yonkman, which caught Scott Ford's attention (see pic 3). Unfortunately, nothing happened... not even a scrap during the game.

Paul made the trip to Peoria for Sunday afternoon's Admirals game against the Rivermen. Milwaukee held a 4-0 lead into the final minute of the game until Peoria spoiled the shutout for Chet Pickard.
With the victory, the Admirals find themselves alone in first place in the division. This marks the halfway point of the season (40 games down, 40 to go), and the team's 50 points in the standings puts them on pace for an even 100 on the season.

Photos from last night's game against San Antonio. This was the third time these teams met up in the last six Admiral home games, and quite frankly, I'm tired of seeing them.
Because most of Milwaukee is afraid to drive in a few inches of snow, the crowd at the Bradley Center was absolutely anemic. I took the opportunity to move down from my Row S seat to an empty area down by the glass in order to get some good action shots.
Here are some of my favorite shots from the game. When I find time in the coming week, I'll post more from this game along with what I manage to get on Saturday.

Milwaukee Admiral forward Dave Scatchard and former Admiral defenseman Shea Weber were shown on this week's "Sports Soup" episode on Versus. During Nashville's last visit to Vancouver, a pair of fans sitting next to the visitor's penalty box were dressed up as Green Man. Whenever a Predator was in the box, they would ham it up and try to distract him.
Green Man comes from the FX comedy "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", in which the pathetic, but loveable, loser Charlie has dressed up in a full-body green spandex suit on a handful of episodes.
If you missed the first run of this week's "Sports Soup" on Tuesday night, you can catch about a dozen replays in the next six days. If you have DirecTV, you're SOL, but you can see the clip they used below...

Heads up to anyone with satellite TV. If you have Fox Sports Ohio, you can watch tonight's Admirals game against Cleveland. In fact, you can watch several Monsters games this season on FSN-Ohio. Hopefully, I'll see the Admirals snap their three game losing streak tonight.

I was killing time awhile back and came across some closeup photos of some Admirals hockey masks. David Gunnarsson is a gifted airbrush artist and has put his skills to work for his business, DAVEART Designs. He has created some incredible designs for many of hockey's biggest stars.
He has featured over 800 photos of his best works on a flickr page.
Check out these links to see them for yourself:
Tip - after clicking on a photo, click on "All Sizes" (above the photo) to view a larger version of it.
Mark Dekanich's last two masks
Chet Pickard's Admirals mask
Pekka Rinne's recent masks
Dan Ellis' Nashville masks
Drew MacIntyre's Milwaukee and Chicago masks

Note: I bumped this earlier post up to keep my photos in order.
Photos from Friday night's game between the hungover Admirals and the hungry Aeros.
I didn't include shots from the first period, during which I sat up high. I moved down by the glass for the second and third periods. I didn't get a seat in my normal section because the Bradley Center ticket window dude didn't give me what I asked for. Wrong section (227 vs. 215). Wrong row (E vs. Q). So, I didn't feel guilty about sitting in a more expensive seat when I had the chance.
The shots I got from up high were good, but I had too many decent up-close shots. Enjoy.

Photos from the game on December 29th butt-whoopin' against Rockford.
The sixth pic below shows the Robert Dietrich shot that went off Peter Olvecky's chest for the goal. The eighth and ninth photos show Ben Guite's goal and celebration. I zoomed in with the 14th photo to show what appears to be the puck hitting Rockford goaltender Joe Fallon's helmet - Mike Santorelli with the shot from the right side half-boards.
I cap it all off with Colin Wilson's first pro fight, as he squared off with former Admiral Bracken Kearns seconds after each guy left the penalty box for serving two minute roughing penalties from an earlier scrap.

Photos from the game on December 28 against Grand Rapids.
The Admirals wore black helmets with the alternate blue jersey, rather than the usual white helmets. I saw this combo for the first time a few weeks ago in Chicago. The next night, Milwaukee wore the white helmets with the blue jersey. Myself, I prefer the black helmet/blue jersey look over every other Admirals color scheme.

Photos from the game on December 20 against San Antonio.
In this game, I moved down to a vacant area in section 202 for the third period. With the game tied going into the final 20 minutes, I told the folks around me I hoped to get a good shot of the game winning goal. Early in the period, Mike Santorelli scored what would be the final goal of the game, but I was zoomed in too far to capture it.
